> A husband and wife from Thawville are among 19 defendants indicted by an Iroquois County grand jury. Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency seized more than 2000 marijuana plants from a cornfield on the farm of Michael and Julie Crowley September 4. The Crowley’s will be in Circuit Court next Wednesday. They face felony charges of Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver, Unlawful Production of Cannabis Plants. State’s Attorney Jim Devine said packaged marijuana was also found inside the Crowley home.
~ Also indicted is 20-yr-old Michael Hunter of Rantoul for Burglary and Theft. He entered a building in Cissna Park stealing guns, ammunition, rifle parts and power tools; the value of the items exceeding $300. The case was investigated by the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Department.
~ 18-yr-old David Richmond of Watseka was arrested by Watseka Police for Residential Burglary.
~ Watseka Police arrested 18-yr-old Larry Godbold Jr. for Residential Burglary and Theft.
~ 42-yr-old Daniel Soranno of Watseka was indicted for Unlawful Presence in a Park. Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police arrested Soranno for living within 500-feet of the park where persons under the age of 18 were present.
~ Watseka Police arrested 53-yr-old Michael Brubach. He was indicted for Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance after making the delivery to a confidential police source. Also indicted for the same offense was 20-yr-old Jeffery Eilers (eye-lers) of Kentland, Indiana.
> 19-yr-old Brittany Wolfinbarger of Watseka was involved in a collision with a semi-truck Thursday. Watseka Police said she was not injured when she hit the rear of the trailer ahead of her–near 2nd and walnut Street–when the se i driver slowed to avoid a pedestrian crossing the roadway.
> Friday, Watseka Police arrested 55-yr-old Martha Overton of Watseka. She was stopped at 2:20 AM for Improper Lane Usage and was also charged with DUI. A passenger in her car, 34-yr-old Samuel O’Neil of Watseka, was also cited for Illegal Possession of Alcohol by a passenger.
