> HOPKINS PARK, Ill. (AP) – Authorities say seven people were arrested during a dog fight while nine injured pitbulls and $20,000 were seized in Hopkins Park last night following a two-month investigation. Cook County law enforcement say those arrested, included a man who brought a 5-year-old child to the fight. The defendants face charges including felony dog fighting.

> A 25-year-old prison-van escapee is back in custody. Authorities say Walter Wilson fled Saturday from a private van transporting eight prisoners. Wilson was going to Mississippi to face charges of shooting at an occupied house. He got out on Interstate-57 near Manhattan and Monee Roads. On Sunday, he was spotted in Richton Park by a witness who called police. Authorities captured Wilson while he was still wearing shackles on his legs.

> A Kankakee couple was injured in a 2-vehicle collision Saturday on Route 17. 52-yr-old John Borschnack was westbound when an eastbound car driven by 50-yr-old Steven Papineau of Bonfield made a left turn in front of the Borschnack vehicle. Both drivers were injured. So was Martha Borschnack, a passenger in one of the cars. Papineau was cited by State Police for Failure to Yield and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.

35-yr-old Edward Camargo of Hebron, IN was taken to Riverside Hospital after he rolling his pickup truck Sunday. Camargo was westbound on Route 17. He ran off the side of the road, then over-corrected and rolled the vehicle in a bean field. State Police investigated at 7:30 am.

> An Onarga man was arrested for assaulting an Emergency Medical worker. 24-yr-old Adam Hurtado was charged Saturday by Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police with Aggravated Assault and Possession of Cannabis..

Sheriff’s Police Sunday arrested 21-yr-old Bradley Schrock of Crescent City. He was charged with DUI, Possession of Cannabis and Drug Paraphernalia and Failure to Stop at a stop sign.

Sheldon Police Sunday arrested a Kentland, IN motorist. 42-yr-old David Artibey was charged with DUI.

> Indiana Conservation officers report a 27-yr-old Indianapolis man was hospitaized after he was rescued from Lake Shafer Saturday. The un-identified man was pulled from the lake near Indiana Beach. Police said the Hispanic man had jumped into the water from a boat and didn’t surface. Bystanders and occupants of the boat pulled the man out of the water. He was administered CPR then taken to White County Memorial Hospital. He was then transferred to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
