*Sheldon is hosting a Red Cross Bloodmobile today. The program–at the Community Center– runs from 1:30 'til 6:30 pm. Walk-ins are welcome. For info call: 429-3106 or 429-3707.

*The Iroquois County Law Enforcement Association is hosting a Hunter Education class this weekend. The class–free of charge–requires attendance both Saturday and Sunday at the County fairgrounds training center. The class starts at 8 am Saturday. Lunch is served.

* The Kelly Miller Circus is setting up shop in Fairbury. Two shows are planned Saturday, September 23rd. Performances are at 2 pm and 5:30 pm at the Fairbury fairgrounds. Area merchants will provide childrens tickets. The Junior Women's Club and the Livingston County Boys and Girls Club of Fairbury are sponsors of the circus event.

* The Kentland Public Libary is applying for a Community Focus Fund grant. A public hearing welcomes community input in the grant application process. The public hearing is at 4:30 pm Wednesday.

* U-S Congressman Jerry Weller was in Bourbonnais Monday announcing his proposal to replace imported oil with bio-fuel. Weller's calling on Congress to pass legislation providing consumers with tax breaks to make it easier to buy gas-saving vehicles. The Republican lawmaker spoke at Court Street Ford.

* The Gilman fire department was among local/ area agecies paying respects to those lost in the 9-11 attacks in 2001. Gilman fire department members had one of their units on display on the Route 24 curve in Gilman. The truck is draped in a black wreath and fire gear with a sign: "9-11 Never forgotten." Several emergency agencies and community units of government took time to Monday to remember the fallen heroes of 9-11.
